Toronto votes
Six days after our neighbours to the south changed the make-up of their government, we in Ontario have the opportunity to the same — but on a local level. Across the province, municipal elections are being held today.
In Toronto, no such upsets are expected, largely because there are no major issues inspiring the electorate. (For an overview of the issues, visit Marc Weisblott’s Campaign Bubble blog.)
If you’re of voting age in Ontario, get out and mark your ballot (you have until 8 p.m. EST tonight). If you’re in Toronto, and still undecided about which councillor to vote for, take a look at ArtsVote and find out who stands (or doesn’t stand) for what. For those less independently minded (or just curious), Spacing has broken down who the media has endorsed.
And you can even join some Torontonians who will be watching the results at Pauper’s.
