Living Can Kill You

Best of Europe; TechStuff.ca

Europe has picked its best in online journalism. Although BBC News Online did quite well, a number of independent and non-English services won as well. The justification for the awards should be read by every one of the so-called “big, traditional media institutions.”

Here in Canada, Sandy McMurray has launched TechStuff.ca as a technology news site for average (i.e, not the “geeks”) Canadians. The site is so Canadian, the About section is “powered by” Tim Hortons. McMurray has a lot of experience with this field, thanks to his long-time Net presence and (until recently) his work as The Toronto Sun’s technology columnist.

The site looks great and seems to be a very solid attempt at what The Convergence tried to do five years ago. I wish Sandy better luck than we had.
