Wired News on journalism
I’ve been reading Wired News religiously for the almost five years (long enough to remember its white on black with red look). Yesterday I didn’t. Yesterday, there were three web journalism stories (kindly posted to the caj-list by Bill Doskoch).
- “Who, What, Where, Why and Web” (on teaching Web-based journalism)
- “Europe’s Spin on Web Reporting” (self-explanatory really)
- “All the News That Fits” (about CNN Headline News and ESPNews doing the CP24 thing [Long ago, Jon Katz wrote of his admiration of the Znaimer-style of TV. It was a model he thought the U.S. broadcasters should adopt. Looks like they finally are.])
The first article is generating some interesting thoughts about the pros-and-cons of teaching online journalists HTML. Expect a rant on this from me shortly. I got some strong opinions about that topic.
