Credibility of online journalism

The Online News Association is doing a study into the credibility of online journalism. The online survey (which takes less than ten minutes to complete) is targetted either to journalists or "media consumers" depending on how you answer the first few questions. If you read or create online news, fill out the survey and watch for the results in late October.

In a related piece in The New York Times, TheStreet.com's former editor David Kansas writes about how online journalism has finally gained the respect of both the power-brokers and the public-at-large.

My own entry into online journalism was with Canada's first daily tech e-zine, The Convergence, almost four-and-a-half-years ago. Affiliated with The Toronto Star, it was often promoted in that paper's standalone technology section, Fast Forward. While The Convergence folded within a year, Fast Forward survived almost seven-and-a-half. A victim continuing aftershocks of the dot-com bust, its final edition appeared last week.
